PAOK Salonika 1-1 Borussia Dortmund: Visiting supporters clash with Greek riot police

Borussia Dortmund's Europa League draw with PAOK Salonika was marred by an ugly clash involving the Bundesliga giants' fans and Greek riot police in Thessaloniki.
Supporters in the away end were forced to retreat to the top of the stand as police wielded batons and appeared to use force to detain a number of Dortmund fans.
Following the match, it was confirmed eight visiting German fans were arrested following clashes with police that briefly stopped play during the European clash at the Toumba Stadium.

No injuries were reported from the violence, which started when Dortmund supporters in the stands started throwing flares and fireworks at riot police who were keeping them apart from home fans.
The clashes forced play to be stopped for a few minutes in the second half. Dortmund had to battle back from going a goal down in the game against PAOK to maintain their unbeaten start under manager Thomas Tuchel.
The Bundesliga giants earned a point in Greece thanks to Gonzalo Castro's fortunate second-half goal after Robert Mak had given the hosts the lead in the opening 45 minutes.
Dortmund have been touted as the favourites for the competition and went into Thursday's group clash on the back of a 2-2 draw with SV Darmstadt in the league.
Despite beginning the match in confident fashion, the German visitors were unable to put their possession to good use and were eventually punished by their opponents.
